Introduction
Did you also take part in discussions about the blob, i.e. about the design of the National Library drawn up by Jan Kaplický? Do you take the side of supporters or opponents the construction of such an untraditional library? It is just this design, like for example the “Dancing House” in Prague, popular “La Défence” in Paris and a number of other ones that form the view of the contemporaneous architecture. They have a lot of supporters as well as opponents. Nevertheless, what matters in particular: thanks to discussions about these constructions, architecture is living and is interesting for the general public.And the reviving of the public interest in architecture is just one of the objectives declared by the architectonic competition for young and novice architects entitled “Architect Award ABF 2009”, which is to culminate at the 20th jubilee FOR ARCH 2009 Trade Fair.
